New crystal arrivals for March 2011

Tumblestones

I have a small quantity of large Quantum Quattro™ tumblestones, as well as stromatolite fossil tumblestones.

Quantum Quattro Silica™ is unclassified by the International Mineralogical Union and is the trade name given to a combination rock from Namibia. It is believed that the combination of minerals that compose Quantum Quattro Silica™ includes silicon dioxide, shattuckite, chrysocolla, dioptase and malachite, found in the oxidation zone of copper deposits, although this is not confirmed. I have also found some information saying this is a combination of smokey quartz, malachite, azurite and dioptase. This is one of the problems when (mining) companies decide to register a word or two such as “quantum quattro” – nobody is quite sure what exactly is being described!

I also have another cacoxenite pendant.

Cacoxenite is also marketed as Super Seven™ (a trade word registered by Melody). However I believe Super Seven™ is a combination silica with cacoxenite being one of its inclusions (hence ’7′).

Sculptures

Angel carvings in rose quartz, quartz and tiger eye, and a rose quartz Chinese buddha. Some lovely quartz polished points and another amethyst polished point. I have also some black obsidian scrying mirrors, ideal for clairvoyant work.

Featured Crystal

Quartz Point with Lepidocrocite inclusions pictured below.

This quartz point with lepidocrocite inclusions is approximately 40mm long. This type of included quartz is also known as “harlequin quartz”. However – it has another redeming feature, it is also a sceptre quartz, the point having grown at a different rate from the base (some say phallic).

The lepidocrocite inclusions can see seen in the point as small dots of reddish orange, lepidocrocite being an iron hydroxide mineral.

Meditation with this crystal has to be experienced to be fully appreciated. If you are a sensitive, open to the subtle energies of crystals then you will find this one a goldmine of experience. Opening the heart chakra – and providing channel to angelic energies this is a crystal for self healing at an emotional level. For those who see the world through a veil of sadness and are prone to numb the emotions with chemicals – this crystal can help lift the mood and provide insights to deeply held hurts.
