Salvia Officinalis is native to Asia, and cultivated worldwide. It is an evergreen perennial herb commonly known as Common Sage growing up to 1 meter tall. Its fragrant oval green grey leaves grow from woody stems, the flowers can be blue or violet. Sage has traditionally been used as a herb in Mediterranean cuisine, and for its medicinal properties. Smudging with dried Sage smoke has also traditionally been used to remove negative energies from sacred spaces. |
