Pelargonium Graveolens is native to Africa, and is cultivated worldwide with several hundred hybridised varieties. It is a perennial plant commonly known as Pelargonium, Geranium and Rose Geranium growing up to 30 cm tall. The leaves are deeply parted, cleft and toothed, and the entire plant is covered in hairs. Flowers and foliage are aromatic with varieties exuding rose, citrus, coconut, mint and nutmeg scents. Geranium has traditionally been cultivated for the perfumery industry, with rose scented Geraniums producing an essential oil and chemical compound used to make synthetic or adulterated rose oils. |
