Zoisite is a calcium aluminium silicate hydroxide mineral and is found in medium grade regionally metamorphosed rocks. Zoisite belongs to the Epidote group, along with Thulite and Tanzanite. Zoisite crystals are striated and relatively attractive. High grade Zoisite massive is cut and polished for ornamental and jewellery uses. Attractive green Zoisite specimens are often included with opaque Ruby, collectable amongst mineral collectors. |
