Rutile

Rutile is a titanium dioxide mineral and a major ore of titanium. Rutile commonly occurs in high temperature and pressure metamorphic and igneous rocks. Acicular crystals are often found included within Rutilated Quartz. Microscopic inclusions of Rutile within Quartz, Rose Quartz, Ruby, Sapphire, Tourmaline and Beryls produces asterism (stars) and chatoyancy (cat’s eye).

Twinned Rutile crystals forming octahedral circles are particularly interesting and collectable.

Metaphysical Properties

Rutile can assist those starting on the path of developing their psychic abilities. Rutile tends to fast track the opening of awareness, which can be disorienting if this is not expected.

Rutile stimulates clairsentience, and when working with this crystal you may find you are better able to intuitively pickup vibes from people places and things. Rutile can cut to the source of dis-ease and in doing so bring up and magnify any attached emotions.

Rutile facilitates recall of the dream, astral travelling and meditative states. Rutile helps ground high vibrational energies into the physical and stimulates the flow of energy through the chakras.
