Double Terminated Quartz

Quartz is a silicon dioxide mineral belonging to the Quartz group. Quartz is the most abundant mineral on Earth, found in most geological environments and a component in most rock types. Quartz varieties include microcrystalline Chalcedony types (each variety has its own page); and macrocrystalline Quartz types, which is clear in its purest form. Impure varieties include Amethyst, Citrine, Smokey Quartz and the massive variety Rose Quartz (each variety has its own page).

Quartz, also known as Rock Crystal, is further named after the growth types Phantom, Elestial, Double Terminated; locality Tibetan Black, Herkimer Diamond; inclusions Rutile, Tourmalinated; artificial coatings Aqua Aura, Opal Aura; and synthetic production Siberian Blue, Green; and that’s to name but a few (each has its own page).

Double Terminated Quartz crystals grow with natural terminations at each end of a natural point. Double Terminated quartz can form in Smokey Quartz and Citrine varieties.

Double Terminated Quartz can also be artificially created through cutting and polishing single terminated points; however these do not allow energy to pass in both directions. These are often cut as pendants, used in the jewellery trade.

Double Terminated Quartz points are able to transmit and receive energy from both terminations and represent balance and remind us of the need to both give and take.

Crystal Healing Uses

Double Terminated Quartz can be used to stimulate healing of any dis-ease, as its function is to harmonise the higher vibrational energies of the aura, light body or subtle body. It is believed that physical dis-ease is a consequence of dis-harmony in the energies of the subtle body.

Double Terminated Quartz can be used to treat addictions.
