Labradorite

Labradorite is a calcium sodium aluminium silicate mineral. Labradorite is a Plagioclase Feldspar. Labradorite can be highly iridescent, due to diffused light reflection from microscopic parallel intergrowths of Albite and Orthoclase bouncing light back and forth through the layers.

Labradorite, when cut and polished to accentuate its ladradorescence makes fabulously beautiful pieces.
