Black Kyanite

Kyanite is an aluminium silicate mineral. Kyanite is characterized by its colour (usually blue), differing hardness, perfect cleavage and bladed crystal form.

Black Kyanite produces striated fan like specimens, which are rarer to find than the blue specimens.
