Iolite

Iolite is a magnesium aluminium silicate mineral. Iolite is also known as Cordierite. Iolite displays strong pleochroism, often with 3 colour shades in one gemstone. Gemstone Iolite ranges in colour from violet blue to light blue to yellow. Resembling Sapphire, Iolite is also known as Water Sapphire.

Iolite gemstone is widely used in the jewellery trade, producing some stunning pieces, with fine plays of colours.
