Hematite

Hematite is an iron oxide mineral which occurs in most metamorphic and sedimentary rocks. Hematite often occurs intermixed with Quartz. Crystalline rose forms of Hematite make fine specimens for collections.

Hematite is also known as Haematite. Hematite included with Mica, known as Specular Hematite, display a wonderful sparkling star effect. Hematite is paramagnetic.
