Uvarovite Garnet

Uvarovite is a calcium chromium silicate mineral of the Garnet Group. There are 6 named group species Almandine, Andradite, Grossular, Pyrope, Spessartine and Uvarovite. Within each of these groups are several named varieties. Uvarovite is a rare Garnet with tiny, lustrous emerald-green crystals.

Uvarovite is not used in the gem trade, but makes fine specimens for collectors.
