Rhodolite Garnet

Rhodolite is a magnesium aluminium silicate mineral of the Garnet Group. There are 6 named group species Almandine, Andradite, Grossular, Pyrope, Spessartine and Uvarovite. Within each of these groups are several named varieties. Rhodolite is a rose red to violet variety of the species Pyrope, mixed with Almandine.

Transparent Rhodolite is often cut as gemstones for the jewellery market.
