Fulgarite is hollow natural glass tubes created as the result of lightening strikes on sand (silica). The resulting fused glass is called Lechatelierite, and can also be formed from meteorite impact and volcanic action. Fulgarite can vary in length from tens of millimetres to several meters, although they are a rare natural phenomenon. |
