Epidote

 

Epidote is a complex calcium aluminium iron silicate hydroxide mineral. Epidote is an abundant rock forming mineral of secondary origin. The character of Epidote depends on the quantity of iron present, creating a striking pistachio green colour. Magnificent dark green Epidote crystals produce fine specimens.

Epidote crystals can display strong pleochroism.
