Diamond

Diamond is an allotrope of carbon and the hardest known natural material. Diamond occurs in almost every colour, and are categorised by their carat, cut, colour and clarity. 80% of mined Diamonds are used in industry, 20% are gem quality; and synthetic Diamonds (diamante) are made for both sectors.

Diamond is unequalled in uniqueness: the hardest known substance, best conductor of heat, highest melting point of any substance, and has the highest refractive index of any natural mineral.
