Agatised Coral is Chalcedony which has pseudomorphed after organic Coral. Chalcedony is cryptocrystalline Quartz. Chalcedony has many varieties including Agate, Bloodstone, Carnelian, Chrysoprase, Flint, Jasper, Onyx, Sardonyx and Tiger’s Eye; to name a few. Agatised Coral is also known as Silicified Coral. Silicification preserves the original structure of the Coral. Corals are the skeletal remains of marine organisms. |
