Chrysoberyl is a beryllium aluminium oxide, which also forms Alexandrite and Cymophane (or Cat’s Eye). Chrysoberyl is transparent yellow to green in colour, yet lacks the lustre of Alexandrite.

Chrysoberyl is a rare gemstone and demands a high price, especially the snowflake shaped forms.
