Emerald

Emerald is a beryllium aluminium silicate mineral of the Beryl family. The colour of Emerald is due to trace amounts of chromium impurities in the Beryl structure. The colour of Emerald is dark green. The more intense the colour of an Emerald, the more value is put on it. Inclusions give Emeralds their character.

Emerald is a durable semi-precious gemstone. Emeralds can be synthetically produced. Emerald is rarely found displaying chatoyancy.
