Axinite is a calcium manganese iron magnesium aluminium borosilicate hydroxide mineral found in metamorphic rocks and pegmatites. Axinite forms distinctive plum coloured axe shaped crystals. Axinite forms a series named after their differing chemistries which in turn creates a varied colouration of crystal. |
