Moss Agate

Agate is a variety of Chalcedony, which is a variety of microcrystalline fibrous Quartz. The colour is due to minute quantities of various elements; and the banding is due to the gradual cooling of the silica. Specimens are cut and polished to create stunning examples.

Moss Agate resembles moss or foliage markings in a translucent or transparent Agate.
